San Diego Pride is the largest civic event in the city and one of the most recognized Pride celebrations in the United States. The organization sought a production partner capable of managing the scale and complexity of both the Pride Parade through Hillcrest and the two-day Pride Festival in Balboa Park.

The goal was to deliver a vibrant, inclusive celebration that honored the LGBTQ+ community while supporting a large-scale public festival experience featuring world-class entertainment, community programming, exhibitors, and sponsors.

For more than a decade, The Shift Studio team has partnered with San Diego Pride to produce the event, helping the organization grow and evolve the festival while maintaining its powerful sense of community and cultural significance.

Each year, San Diego Pride transforms the Hillcrest neighborhood and Balboa Park into a multi-day celebration welcoming hundreds of thousands of participants and visitors.

The experience begins with the iconic Pride Parade, one of the largest in the country, before continuing with a two-day music festival and community celebration in Balboa Park featuring multiple stages, exhibitor areas, food and beverage experiences, and nonprofit programming.

The Shift Studio oversees the complex logistics required to operate a citywide event while delivering a seamless guest experience for attendees, performers, sponsors, and community partners.

Notable performers have included major artists such as Kesha, TLC, JoJo, and other nationally recognized performers, bringing large-scale music festival energy to the Pride celebration.

San Diego Pride has become one of the most important cultural events in the region, celebrating LGBTQ+ pride while creating meaningful economic and social impact for the city.
